Introducing the New Segmented Anode Rod Service Parts

We’re pleased to announce that new segmented anode rod service parts are now available for purchase. These segmented anode rods are intended to be used as service parts and were designed to provide additional flexibility in low clearance applications where it may be difficult to remove and install a traditional solid anode rod. 

The segmented anode rods will be available in two styles: the anode outlet device (AOD) or plug style. The anode outlet device or AOD is a combination of the hot water outlet and anode rod, while the plug option is installed into a separate plug on the top of the water heater. The two styles will also be offered in magnesium, aluminum, or A420 aluminum. The connections are ¾ inch NPT and intended to be used on any model with a ¾ inch NPT. The anode outlet device style comes with a 3 ½ inch long nipple intended to fit all appropriate tank bodies.   

The segmented anodes may also be cut to length based on the needs in the field like traditional solid anode rods. All service parts lists located in the Technical Documents section on the Bradford White website now include the part numbers for the segmented anodes. The chart below exhibits which segmented anode to order in place of the solid anode being replaced*.
